A Woman's Place...

One of my employees, who happens to be a young woman, said today that she would never vote for because she is a woman and the says that women should not be leaders.

"That's a man's job," she said.

I asked her where it says that in the and she didn't know. She just knows that it's in there and she knows that intended women to be submissive to men.

I wanted to rant and rave and fire her ass for being so fucking stupid! But I realized that it's not her fault. I pity her because she is a young, attractive, intelligent woman who has been indoctrinated all of her life and accepts that she could never be equal to a man. It's really sad!

And the fact is she's right about the . It does say that:

1 Timothy 2:12 But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.

It's a shame that, in this day and age, young women are still limiting themselves because of this horrible, antiquated book that was obviously written by men! Makes me fucking sick!!!

Here’s some more female denigration from the :

Genesis 3:16 Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee.

1 Corinthians 11:3 But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God.

1 Corinthians 11:7 For a man indeed ought not to cover his head, forasmuch as he is the image and glory of God: but the woman is the glory of the man.

1 Corinthians 11:8 For the man is not of the woman: but the woman of the man.

1 Corinthians 11:9 Neither was the man created for the woman; but the woman for the man.

1 Corinthians 14:34 Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience as also saith the law.

1 Corinthians 14:35 And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church.

1 Timothy 2:11 Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection.

1 Timothy 2:13 For Adam was first formed, then Eve.

1 Timothy 2:14 And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression.

Colossians 3:18 Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as it is fit in the Lord.

The 1 Corinthians 14:34 line always amuses me. I used to think it stupid that certain churches don't allow female priests, but now I realise that it's stupid that women should want to preach Christian churches.

a) How can you give a service in silence? (answer, they don't, they give sermons just like male preachers)

b) If you don't know your own religion well enough to understand that you are not supposed to be talking in church, how can you instruct others?

This is an example of the stupidity of modern heretics (along with Christian homosexuals and their stupid internal turmoil - "boo hoo, I'm gay, and my imaginary friend says that's evil. I know, I'll just claim he didn't mean it, and was going through a 'phase'"). Why can't they realise that if they disagree with their god, then either they are wrong, and should do as they are told, or their god is false, and they should stop following it?

Cracking cartoon! Really made me giggle! But it is deeply depressing that anyone could really believe this rubbish in this day and age. If it's any consolation I don't think it's so prevalent as a belief over here in the UK (that probably isn't a consolation but I thought I'd tell you any way!)

It's something that is often mentioned... that god created the world and everything in it in six days (taking a bit of annual leave on the seventh)... except then he made Eve, as an afterthought it seems.

I think it's just another way to dominate someone with the evidence of religion... that is to say that women had better know their place, because god says so.

Terrible stuff really, and responsible for a lot of rubbish that we're still dealing with.

Dude, you know, this post could get you in a whole lot of trouble if your employee happens to read it...

I just want to let you know that you shouldn't believe everything that those crackpot preachers spout. You can see they are wrong don't assume that the Bible is wrong as well. All of the verses you have mentioned are either taken out of context or have been misinterpreted through the years. I have studied the Bible and it says that man and woman are equal it is just that man has used those verses to his advantage to take advantage of women. And I think it a sham that it has become so distorted

Ok, A Brutal Kind, explain how these could possibly have been taken out of context?

Wow i diden't relize it was pointed out that often!!! Im curently reading the bible(research if you will) and i was already a little supriced it was that much spelled out in the bible. In all fairness thou the ones in old testament should be ignored now acording to "normal" christians.

I disagree, Evilshadow. Christians should not be able to pick and choose which parts of the Bible to push on everyone else. The excuse of "That was the old covenant" is bullshit!

If they can ignore the OT because it's obsolete, then they should throw the thing out and stop referring to it. But instead, they still use it extensively to condemn gays, for example. And they still site the "Ten Commandments" even though Jesus only mentions five (Matthew 19:18-19) plus a sixth one that's not in the original ten.
